Every VNON-specific term in one place β€” Bond, SABT, $VOFF, Akoustikos, the rest. Anchor links (#bond, #voff, etc.) let other pages deep-link.

βš™οΈ Mechanics

Bond Tranche

#bond-tranche

The USDC tranche a track must raise to launch its token.

The dollar amount you set at upload that backers fill toward (formerly called Bond Target β€” renamed to match the SABT β€” Sealed Artist Bond Tranche β€” mechanic). Range $5k–$50k. When the pool reaches 100%, the offering 'bonds' β€” your $VOFF token deploys on Base, 20% of the raise goes to the artist in USDC, 10% airdrops to backers, 40% seeds DEX liquidity, 40% goes to the VNON treasury.

Bonded / Bond / Bonding

#bonded

An offering that hit 100% of its target and deployed its token.

When a track's bond pool fills to 100% of its Bond Tranche, the smart contract automatically deploys the $VOFF token on Base, pays the artist, seeds liquidity, and airdrops backers. A 'bonded' track is past this milestone; its token trades on a DEX.

Conditional Offering ($VOFF)

#conditional-offering

A crowdfunded track release β€” funds escrow until the Bond Tranche is hit.

The standard VNON drop. Artist sets a Bond Tranche; fans back the pool pre-bond at a uniform price. If the target is reached by the deadline, the offering bonds (see above). If not, every backer is refunded 100% β€” no fees. The 'conditional' part is the no-bond-no-transfer guarantee.

Gift Drop ($VIFT)

#gift-drop

A no-crowdfund release β€” token launches immediately, listeners earn supply.

The alternative path to $VOFF. Skip the raise entirely; your $VIFT token deploys on approval. 10% of supply is claimable free by listeners who play your track (listen-to-earn). 10% goes to pool float, 80% is perma-locked. Artist earns 50% of DEX trading fees forever, and streaming/sync royalties buy-and-burn the token over time.

SABT (Sealed Artist Bond Tranche)

#sabt

The smart-contract escrow that holds bond pool USDC.

VNON's escrow primitive. Contributions sit sealed in the SABT contract from ACTIVE through BONDED or FAILED. Releases USDC + airdrops on bond, refunds 100% on failure, supports 90/10 early exits during ACTIVE.

DEX Trading Fees

#dex-trading-fees

1% of every trade. Artist takes half, in WETH β€” never in your own token.

Every buy and sell on your song's pool pays a 1% fee (Clanker takes a fixed 20% of that on top). It splits 50/50 between the creator group and VNON Labs, forever, with no expiry. Fees accrue in BOTH assets depending on which way the trade went β€” buys leave WETH, sells leave tokens. The artist's half is converted to WETH before payout, so your entitlement is 50% of ALL trading fees rather than 50% of one asset β€” and you never hold sellable $VOFF. The conversion is a market trade on your song's own pool, so the exact WETH figure depends on the price when fees are collected. That is on purpose: the 80% creator burn exists so your ownership can't be dumped into your own pool, and paying you in token would hand that right back. VNON Labs takes its half in token and burns it, which returns that royalty claim to VNON Labs under the burn-reversion rule. The two conversions run in opposite directions at roughly equal size, so the net effect on the pool is close to nothing. The 50/50 split is fixed at launch and can never be changed. Which asset each side is paid in can be.

Early Exit / 10% Tax

#early-exit

Withdraw from an active bond pool β€” the exit fee stays in the pool and still counts toward the goal.

Before a bond fills, backers can withdraw at any time. Money contributed in the CURRENT season pays a 10% exit fee; money from a previous season has matured and leaves tax-free. Withdrawing spends your matured balance first, so the outcome is always the one most favourable to you β€” you never have to reason about ordering to avoid a fee. The fee is not taken out of the raise. It stays in the pool and still counts toward the bond goal, so the people who remain reach 100% with less new money than the target implies. Because a backer's share of the 10% token allocation is measured against the total still in the pool at bond β€” not against the target β€” everyone left splits the same 10% between fewer dollars. A backer leaving makes the remaining positions slightly larger, never smaller. Where the fee ends up depends on how the raise ends. If it BONDS, the fee is part of the raise and flows through the same 20/40/40 split as every other dollar. If it FAILS (the artist cancels, or the season closes unfilled), the fee sweeps to the VNON Labs treasury and refunds are exactly principal β€” no bonus, no haircut, no dependence on anyone else's behaviour. If VNON Labs REVOKES the raise β€” copyright, stolen work, uncleared samples, fraud β€” the fee is paid out pro-rata to the remaining backers instead, and the uploading artist is excluded from that share even if they also backed it. We take nothing from a raise we killed, and the person whose upload caused the takedown is not paid from other backers' fees.

Front Row

#front-row

The top 3 pinned bid-comments on every track.

Comments on a track can be bid with $VNON. The top 3 bids pin to the Front Row at the top of the comments section, visible to every viewer. Base comment cost: 420 $VNON. Front Row floor: 10,000 $VNON. Simulated in beta.

VYB

#vyb

Attention-weighted activity score for tracks and artists.

Combines plays + comments + bid volume + share velocity into a single normalized score. Used for leaderboard ranking and the Top Offering surface. Not a financial metric β€” it's the closest thing VNON has to 'cultural momentum.'

πŸ’Ž Tokens

$VOFF

#voff

Per-track token from a bonded Conditional Offering.

100B fixed supply per song. At launch: 80B is BURNED (sent to 0x…dEaD) β€” it is the accounting basis for royalty splits between the artist and collaborators, not tokens anyone holds or can sell. 10B is airdropped to backers. 10B is VNON Labs' share, supplied to the trading pool as liquidity β€” roughly 2.9B of it is bought and burned by the launch dev-buy. 0% VC, 0% team. Ownership reads 80% creators / 10% backers / 10% VNON Labs, and every percentage is quoted against non-burned supply β€” burned tokens have no holder. Two rules keep that arithmetic honest. Pool tokens are unsold inventory: VNON Labs holds their royalty claim until a buyer takes them, then it transfers. And any token burned out of circulation after launch returns its claim to VNON Labs, which is why the dev-buy burn leaves VNON Labs at 10% rather than shrinking it. Ticker is `$VOFF{id}` (e.g. $VOFF8) or a custom symbol the artist sets.

$VIFT

#vift

Per-track token from a Gift Drop.

Same 100B supply as $VOFF but a different distribution: 80B perma-locked, 10B listen-to-earn (claimable by listeners, not backers β€” there is no raise and nobody paid anything), 10B pool float. Artist earns 50% of DEX fees + buy-and-burn from streaming royalties (which $VOFF doesn't have β€” $VOFF's value accretes via the royalty stream instead). IMPORTANT, AND WE'D RATHER SAY IT PLAINLY: a Gift Drop launches with no raise behind it, so its pool starts thin and stays thin until people actually trade the song. A $VIFT nobody hears is a $VIFT nobody trades, and a token nobody trades is a souvenir β€” real ownership on paper, no market to sell into. Claiming is free, so the only thing that turns it into a liquid asset is you and everyone else who claimed putting the song in front of people. That's the whole deal: you got given a piece of a song, and whether the piece is worth anything is genuinely up to you.

$VNON

#vnon

VNON's governance + staking token.

Used to vote on curator elections, governance proposals, and treasury allocation. Stakeable for protocol rewards (24h unlock, 48h withdrawal). Also the bidding currency for Front Row comments. Pre-launch as of beta β€” supply and distribution model are still being finalized with counsel.

πŸ‘₯ People

Uploader / Owner

#uploader

The VNON user (wallet) that submitted a track.

The wallet that controls the offering and receives the 20% USDC payout at bond. Often the artist themselves, but can be a manager, label, bandmate, or producer uploading on behalf of the credited artist. Shown as 'Submitted by @handle' on the track detail page when distinct from the named artist.

Artist (artistName)

#artist

The named/featured artist for a song β€” a credit, not necessarily a VNON user.

The artistName field is a free-text string entered at upload (e.g. 'Frank Ocean'). It's a credit, not a profile link. The Artist card on a track page only becomes a clickable profile link when we can confirm the artist is on VNON (via uploader match or a linked collaborator).

Collaborator

#collaborator

A credited contributor to a song with a royalty split.

Set at upload. Each collaborator has a name, a role (artist, producer, songwriter, mixer, vocalist, instrumentalist, engineer, etc.), and a percentage of the creators' 80% royalty share. Collaborators with a matching @username on VNON are auto-linked to their profile; those off-platform get an invite token they can redeem to claim their credit.

Backer / Contributor

#backer

A user who contributed USDC to a bond pool pre-bond.

Backers receive a pro-rata airdrop of the 10B $VOFF backer pool when the offering bonds, plus ongoing streaming royalties. 'Backer' is the pre-bond label; post-bond they become 'holders' once the token deploys and they hold $VOFF.

VNON ID

#vnon-id

Auto-assigned permanent ID for every VNON account.

Format: VNON{n} (e.g. VNON482). Issued at first sync, immutable. Independent of the user's chosen @username (which is also unique but can be claimed later or changed). Used as a fallback display when no username/displayName is set.

πŸŽ– Tiers

User Tiers (Greek)

#user-tiers

Seasonal user ranks: Oracle β†’ Mystic β†’ Adept β†’ Initiate β†’ Akoustikos.

Five tiers based on seasonal activity. Oracle (top 1%), Mystic (top 5%), Adept (top 10%), Initiate (top 25%), Akoustikos (top 50%). Used on leaderboards for artists and backers. 'Akoustikos' is the Pythagorean term for an initiated listener β€” felt appropriate for a curation platform.

Track Tiers (Metal)

#track-tiers

Seasonal track ranks: Diamond β†’ Platinum β†’ Gold β†’ Silver β†’ Bronze.

Reserved exclusively for tracks (not users). Diamond (top 1%), Platinum (top 5%), Gold (top 10%), Silver (top 25%), Bronze (top 50%). Visible on track leaderboards and the music page. Designed to feel like a record-industry sales certification.

Lifetime Membership NFT

#lifetime-membership

ERC-721 on Base. Max supply 3,333. Permanent access tier.

Holders get permanent perks across VNON seasons: priority drops access, governance weight multipliers, exclusive Backstage zones, and listed standing on the Curator board. Mint price 0.003 ETH. Contract: 0x5a5ea42e…3c01e09 on Base.

πŸ”— Infrastructure

Base

#base

Coinbase's Ethereum Layer-2. Where every VNON token deploys.

Chain ID 8453. Mainnet RPC: https://mainnet.base.org. Explorer: basescan.org. Chosen for cheap transactions, Coinbase-native onboarding, and a strong consumer-crypto ecosystem.

Clanker v4

#clanker

Token-deployment SDK used to launch $VOFF and $VIFT tokens.

An open-source factory + SDK for permissionless token deploys on Base. VNON uses Clanker v4 to deploy a fresh ERC-20 every time a track bonds (for $VOFF) or is approved (for $VIFT), with the same launch parameters and LP setup each time.

Privy

#privy

Auth provider that handles wallets + email + social login.

When you click 'Log in' on VNON, Privy handles authentication via your choice of email, Google, X, Apple, Farcaster, or any EVM wallet. Email/social users get an embedded wallet auto-created for them. The auth token Privy issues is verified on every API call.

VNON Treasury

#treasury

Operational treasury β€” held by VNON Labs, LLC; funds the protocol.

Receives the bulk of the 40% bond-raise treasury allocation. Custodied by VNON Labs, LLC via a human multisig with quarterly public reporting. Funds platform operations, master rights acquisitions, DSP licensing, infra, vendors, and legal. Distinct from the Curation Treasury (see Governance).

βš– Governance

VNON Labs, LLC

#vnon-labs

The US-domiciled LLC that legally owns and operates everything material on VNON.

Counter-party for every real-world deal: DSP licensing (Spotify, Apple, YouTube), master rights agreements, vendor contracts, employment, the operational multisig. Token holders coordinate around the platform via the Curation Council, but legal authority over assets and contracts stays with the LLC. Critical for limiting partnership-liability exposure to token holders and giving regulators / counter-parties a clear entity to deal with.

Curation Council

#curation-council

The $VNON staker collective β€” a partner of VNON Labs, not the same entity.

Token-weighted voice composed of $VNON stakers. Votes via Snapshot. Binding within its own scope (the Curation Treasury, compilation picks, season themes, featured drops) and advisory to VNON Labs on everything else (protocol parameters, fee tiers, default royalty splits). Designed as a 'partner collective' β€” coordinated coordination of fans and curators, not a legal entity, not a general partnership.

Curation Treasury

#curation-treasury

A bond-income sub-pool entirely controlled by the Curation Council.

A small percentage of every bond raise (tentative ~5%, final TBD) routes into a sub-pool separate from VNON Labs' operational treasury and reserves. The Council directs spend by Snapshot vote: community marketing, major artist features, curatorial events, promotional pushes for high-conviction bonded tracks, curator bounties. Cannot fund LLC opex, cannot acquire master rights off-platform, cannot dividend out to holders.

Snapshot

#snapshot

Off-chain signed voting infrastructure (snapshot.org).

Industry-standard governance voting tool β€” gasless, supports every major wallet, integrates token gating. VNON has its own Snapshot space; the /govern page in the app fetches and renders proposals via Snapshot's GraphQL API so users vote within VNON UX while Snapshot handles the cryptographic vote counting.

Advisory vs Binding (votes)

#advisory-vs-binding

Council votes are binding within Council scope, advisory outside it.

Within the Council's own jurisdiction (its Curation Treasury spend, compilation track inclusion, season themes, featured drops) β€” vote outcomes execute. Outside Council scope (LLC operational decisions, master rights treasury, real-world contracts) β€” vote outcomes are advisory signal to VNON Labs, which retains legal authority to act on those assets. This boundary is what keeps the Council a partner-collective rather than a control structure.
